Canaan Dog
The Canaan Dog is an ancient breed of the Middle East, originating in the deserts of Israel where it lived as a semi-wild pariah dog. Valued by Bedouin communities for guarding camps and herding livestock, it was later developed for military and service roles including sentry duty, messenger work, and mine detection.
